St Hild’s College CE Aided Primary School is located in the Gilesgate area of Durham and caters for children between the ages of 2 and 11 years. The school’s vision reflects a passionate commitment to learning and recognition of the uniqueness of individual learners, encouraging them all to ‘Shine Bright’. This is driven by a desire to offer the best possible education for pupils in partnership with parents and the local community.
The school aims to provide a happy and secure environment, where children think for themselves and use their own initiative as often as possible. The acquisition of the necessary basic skills is of great importance and St Hild’s offers children a creative curriculum which meets every child’s needs. The school teaches the children how to learn, rather than drill them with facts.
Pupils of faiths other than Church of England are welcomed at St Hild’s CE Aided Primary School. The school works closely with families to provide the best possible education for children. The school are committed to promoting the fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and understanding of those with different faiths and beliefs.
As a growing trust, we would be open to a discussion with any school or schools interested in joining Melrose Learning Trust.
We believe we have a great deal to offer schools who would like to share in a successful, supportive and collaborative educational organisation.
